Prayer Shawl with the Biblical Blue ( TCHELLET ) string
"ACRILAN" (non wool) TALLIT with the Biblical Blue( Tchellet) string
size 70 x 48"
'Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them throughout their generations fringes in the corners of their garments, and that they put with the fringe of each corner a thread of blue( Tchellet).(Numbers 15:38)
Tchelet (תכלת) is a color dye which the Torah commands to use for the tzitzit (fringes on the prayer shawl)is a specific blue (azure) dye produced from a sea shell referred to as a chilazon. The color was meant to represent the "Throne of Glory".
At some point during the Roman occupation of Judea and Sameria, the secret of the dye was lost . Since then, Jews have worn plain white tzitzit without any dyes. Recently two theories have returned into use.We have used the Radziner style in our Tallitot
We can add the authentic (Radziner) blue thread to any talit/prayer shawl that you choose
